At TheraHive, we know that learning DBT skills isn’t about being perfect. It’s about practicing skills in real life, noticing what works, and building confidence over time.
That’s why we’re launching the TheraHive Student Coaching Podcast! In this podcast, students will meet 1-on-1 with TheraHive Co-Founders Dr. Alicia Smart and Dr. Jesse Finkelstein in addition to their participation in the 22-week Adult DBT Skills Group program. Each week, they’ll learn a new skill and get individualized support from Alicia and Jesse on practicing the skill in real life.
The best part is we’re offering these 1-on-1 coaching sessions for FREE to selected students who are enrolled in our Adult DBT Skills Group program.
What Is the Student Coaching Podcast?
The Student Coaching Podcast follows one TheraHive student as they move through our 22-week DBT Skills Group program, one module at a time, practicing skills like mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Listeners get to see the learning process unfold in real time. That includes trying new skills, reflecting on challenges, and applying DBT tools to everyday situations, with the expert guidance of Alicia and Jesse.
Nothing is scripted or staged. The goal is to make DBT skills feel more human, accessible, and understandable.
Who This Is For
This opportunity is for adults who are enrolled in a TheraHive Adult DBT Skills Group and feel open to sharing their learning journey. If you’re not yet enrolled in a group, we still encourage you to apply to be featured on the podcast. We’ll help you get enrolled in the right group.
The expectation is NOT perfection. You just need to be willing to show up, practice the skills, and reflect honestly. Dr. Alicia Smart and Dr. Jesse Finklestein will be there to guide you 1-on-1 as you move through practicing and mastering your DBT skills.
People join DBT skills groups for many reasons, including managing emotions, coping with stress, navigating relationships, or reducing anxiety. All of those experiences are welcome here.
