A simple 30 minute exercise

Here’s a great way to access life worth living goals—have a couple pieces of paper and a timer before you start. Spend 5 minutes on each of the following steps:

  1. Picture your “ideal” most meaningful life, what do you see? Who’s there? Where are you? What are you doing? What does your day look like?
  2. Now for each of the above responses, ask why these things are important to you.
  3. Get a fresh piece of paper and, reflect on some recent time you felt really at peace, excited, proud, happy, etc.
  4. Now reflect on this list and notate if there is anything that these experiences had in common?
  5. Make a final list of anything you already have in your life that you absolutely do NOT want to lose?
  6. Finally, review your list and try to construct a life worth living goal.
